I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and have lived here ever since. I am a proud Bulgarian Jew who grew up in Sofia’s Jewish quarter. As a child, I began learning Hebrew at our beautiful synagogue, a place that holds deep meaning for me.
I spent 12 years in Israel, where I have many close relatives. Later, I pursued my degree in history at university, which strengthened my understanding and love for heritage and culture.
During my university years, I slowly began exploring the field of tourism, and in 2004, I officially entered the industry. Since then, I have remained dedicated to sharing history, landscapes, and traditions with visitors from all over the world.
“Always look at the half-full glass.”
I completed a Tour Guide Course and studied at the Tourism Academy in Bulgaria, equipping myself with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide enriching and immersive travel experiences.
Europe: Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Northern Greece
Bulgaria is my homeland, the place where I was born, and where my parents were born. This country holds deep historical significance, as it was the nation that saved us—Bulgarian Jews—while much of Europe faced tragic events during World War II.
Beyond its history, Bulgaria is a stunning land with warm and welcoming people, breathtaking landscapes, and delicious cuisine. It is always a joy to introduce visitors to its hidden gems and rich cultural heritage.
I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, into a Jewish family, growing up immersed in the traditions of both cultures. After finishing school in Sofia, my family moved to Israel, where I learned the language and later joined the army.
I lived in Israel for 12 years, during which I gained a deep understanding of its culture and heritage. This experience shaped my perspective and strengthened my connection to my roots.
Upon returning to Bulgaria, I began working as a tour guide for Jewish visitors. My decision was driven by two key reasons:
Passion for History and Culture: I have always been deeply committed to preserving and sharing knowledge about history and traditions. Guiding tours allows me to pass on what I know to others, enriching their understanding of the world.
Gratitude to the Bulgarian People: The Bulgarian people are the reason I am here today. During the horrific extermination of Jews in World War II, it was the Bulgarians who stood firm, ensuring that Jews were not sent to certain death.
One poignant example is the story of my grandmother and mother, who were on a train destined for deportation. The Bulgarian people stood in defiance, preventing the train from leaving. This act of courage saved their lives, and I feel a profound obligation to showcase the beauty of this country as a gesture of sincere gratitude.
Bulgaria is not only my homeland but also a country with a rich history, breathtaking landscapes, and warm-hearted people. Its role in saving Bulgarian Jews during one of history’s darkest periods is a testament to its humanity and resilience. Sharing this story, along with the country’s natural beauty and delicious cuisine, is a privilege I hold dear.
